I went on an early morning walk.
ボクは早朝散歩をした。
There’s a small Shrine near the park.
公園の側に小さな神社があった。
It enshrine Kojin.
それは荒神さまを祭る神社だった。
There is a lot Kojin-Shrines around the Seto Inland Sea.
瀬戸内周辺にはたくさんの荒神社がある。

I found a Mailbox of an old type.
かわいい形の郵便ポストを見つけた。
There’s the moat.
これはお堀だ。
A moat is something like pond made artificially around a castle to prevent the invasion of the enemy.
お堀とは、敵の侵入を防ぐために、お城の周りに人工的に作られた池のようなものだ。
But a castle’s not there, now.
今はお堀の内側に城はない。
Now the high school, kindergarten and museum are there.
今は、幼稚園と高等学校と郷土博物館がある。
But a part of the gate and the moat are just left.
だが、門やお堀の一部はそのまま残しているそうだ。
The castle town has narrow roads and is like a maze to prevent enemies from entering.
城下町は敵の侵入を防ぐため、道が狭く、迷路のようになっている。
